Future VWs I Would Like to Own :
This section contains a photo and brief description of other VWs that we yearn to own. We can dream, can't we?

A Vanagon Style Doka

This is the highest on the "wish" list. Just let us win the lottery - any lottery - and see how fast we start shopping for one.

This would make a great tow vehicle behind our motor home. If you read the history of our current DoubleCab, you would understand the irony of using this as an excuse to buy a doka.

If we were wishing, we would want a doka with air conditioning and a 5 speed transmission. The 5 speed would allow us not only to tow with all 4 wheels down, but also to have a high enough cruising speed on the freeway so that we can run around once we get to where ever we are going in the RV. Because most "motor-homing" is done where it is warm, the a/c is a must. Of course, we can always add the a/c once we get the doka.

If the doka was air-cooled, we would love to convert it over to a small Porsche engine. We hear that the Porsche engine basically bolts right in. We don't want it for more power. We just think that the Porsche 6 cylinder will idle more smoothly - especially with the air conditioning.

If the doka was water-cooled, then we would have to think about one of the engine conversions. We know that Bostig has an absolutely wonderful conversion to the Zetec engine. But we would probably choose to stay in the VW family. That probably means the Tiico conversion. The turbo-diesel would be nice. But then again, so would a change to the gas engines like they use the the Rabbit and Jetta - especially if we went with one of those high horsepower engines like are in the GTI.

911 Porsche Targa

We don't really care if it was a Targa or not. But as long as we are wishing, it might as well be. We like the early model 911 Porsche - up until about 1969. To show you how open minded we are, we would even take one of the early 912 models.

356 Porsche - Cabriolet

Again, we would cheerfully take a 356 Coupe. It just doesn't matter. In our humble opinion, these were the true sports cars.

23 Window VW Samba

There is just something about the old 23 window VW Samba. They didn't go fast. But they sure were something - especially with that huge sunroof. Of course, the price these days of a really nice 23 window is also something.

VW Phaeton

We don't think that these are being produced any longer. But they certainly were a terrific vehicle. And they were a VW.

VW Touareg

A VW Touareg with the big diesel - what a way to travel! Come to think of it, this would also make a terrific tow car behind the motor home. Nah. I better not use that excuse too many times.

45' Motor Home

We need a new motor home to replace our 20 year old model.

Anything by Monaco, Marathon, Country Coach, etc. It doesn't have to be a Prevost. If you are willing to give us one, we are willing to take it.

As long as it is 45' long and has 4 slides. There is roughing it and then there is "roughing" it.

We can take care of almost anything else. Of course, then we need to money to pay for diesel fuel at 7 mpg. But if you give us the motor home, we can probably take care of the fuel.

That isn't much of a wish list, is it?

In keeping with modern times, we feel we should make an attempt to have other people pay for what we want.

So if you feel you would like to help us purchase something off of our wish list, please use the Contact Us web page. Just let us know what you would like to purchase for us. We will, of course, provide you with full credit for your generosity on this web site including before, during, and after pictures.

If you have the contacts, you also could get us on to one of those "make over" shows where someone else comes in and buys all the stuff we were unable to buy for ourselves.

One final thought. If you are rich [especially if you are rich and ill] we are open to adoption.
